On February 1, 2009 Hawke Robinson and Michael Martinez walked into their ground-breaking studios and cut a new track for the album of Middle-earth Talk Radio classics. In other words, they used Skype to chat for a while about all things Tolkien and Hawke recorded the discussion from his home studio (yes, he really does have a sound engineering studio in his home).
The 1-hour-long episode covered topics such as connections between “Lost In Space”, “Babylon 5”, and J.R.R. Tolkien; a Hobbit newsletter Michael had just launched; and all things “Hobbit” from Pennsylvania to high school.
The Tolkien family, Tolkien scholars, and other subjects in the news came up and were thoroughly hashed, rehashed, and investigated from an armchair detective perspective.
And all that was for free.
