On March 6, 2011 — the 10th anniversary of SF-Fandom — Hawke Robinson and Michael Martinez regrouped via the power of Skype to record episode 31 of Middle-earth Talk Radio.
Early discussion in the episode addressed the infamous Google Panda algorithm and the 10th anniversary of SF-Fandom. Wikipedia unfortunately displaced MERP.com for the 1st position in the “middle-earth role-playing” query (here is a link to MERP: Middle-earth Role-playing). Michael also explains why there is no SF-Fandom newsletter for the several thousand forum members. He also reminisces about writing for Suite101.
Other topics covered included the official titles of the two hobbit films (as disclosed through TheOneRing.net); other film-related discussion; and so on and so forth. Listen to the episode.
Hawke also shared an anecdote about his one experience acting in a video movie “A New Mama for Bubba”. You’ll have to listen to the episode….
Non-film discussion topics included “The Kalevala”, earthquakes, and Chet Akins (Michael mis-remembered his name as “Roy Akins”).
